What is the difference between a mid-tower and a full-tower computer case?

The amount of room you have...

Normally if you buy a case which states it supports ATX format then any ATX board will fit into that case, regardless of if it's a mid or full tower.

The amount of room differs between the number of hard drives, number of 5.25'; bays (CD-ROM bays), floppy drive bays, etc.

Buying a full tower is also going to give you more room to organize your cables and other case internals, you won't be so cramped as you would with a mid or mini tower.
